There is a lot of noise about AI in retail. Here is precisely what a try on screen does in a saree shop, in the order it happens, with no magic words.
What the customer does
She walks up to a screen standing in your shop. It takes one photo of her, standing straight, full length. She picks a saree from your own catalogue on the screen. In about a minute she sees herself wearing it, draped the way it is worn in the Telugu states, pleats at the waist, pallu over the left shoulder, her own face and her own height.
She does not install anything, type anything, or hand over her phone. The photo is used to make her pictures and nothing else.
What the shop does
Your team photographs each saree once with a phone: the full length, the border, the pallu, the body fabric and the blouse piece. The system builds a clean catalogue picture from those photos, and a picture of the saree on a model, and checks its own work against your photographs. Every design waits for your approval before a customer ever sees it. Nothing goes on the screen that you have not looked at.

What it is not
It is not a mirror with a costume overlay that stretches one flat image over everyone. The drape is drawn for her body in her photo. It is not a measurement or sizing tool. And it is not a replacement for your salesman: it is the thing that gets a customer to say show me more, which is the moment a good salesman was waiting for.
The honest limits
It is a made picture, and made pictures can miss. Colours are checked against your photographs by the system itself, and when a picture is not right, the customer can ask for it again with one tap.
